CMWC riders coming to Chicago first weekend of August can win a free app

The Chicago Offline Bike Map app is great for visiting competitors at the Cycle Messenger World Championship (CMWC) being held at Solder Field on August 2-5. It shows the location of CTA and Metra train stations and routes, and gives advice on how to bring your bike on board the trains and buses (alongside the agencies’ rules). For international visitors who’ll be bringing their smartphones without data plans, you’ll have a map of the whole city, with bike lanes, train stations, and neighborhoods, without the need for an internet connection. Additionally, Google Maps for iOS doesn’t show where bike lanes and Lakefront Trail access points are, in case you want to ride in them.

The app costs 99 cents, but I’m holding a contest for CMWC riders to win a free copy. The rules are simple: The first 10 people to email me the answer to the following question will receive a promo code to download the app for free.

Which profiled racer is shown photographed in the Knight Industries Two Thousand car?

Update Tuesday, July 31: I’ve distributed 5 promo codes so far. There’s only 5 remaining! The deadline has been extended indefinitely.
